What a great evening we had at Listry football pitch on Friday 17th October. This was our end of season party and an opportunity for everyone to say thank you for a very enjoyable U6/8/10 year. 81 boys and girls were presented with medals by Listry senior captain Jimmy O’Leary. It was great to have Jimmy,a super captain and a good role model for our young stars.Jimmy spoke very well, was nice to the kids and did a marvellous job.We all wish Jimmy and the senior team the very best of luck in the Co.Novice semi-final on Sunday at 2pm in Austin Stack park in Tralee. The medals were sponsored by former Listry player and local business man Ger Brosnan, tree surgeon.
Listry juvenile secretary Fergus Clifford thanked all the coaches, parents, kids and sponsors and then we left the stand and went to the clubrooms for a party. Listry mums,Kay,Patricia, Ursula, Kate,Catherine, Breda and Liz had everything prepared. The kids, coaches, and parents had a super party.Thank you to Cathal O’Shea and Faha Court for providing sausages and chips and thank you to Ger and Liz Tangney for sponsoring them.Listry club President Johnjoe Tangney and Listry Chairman Denis Courtney attended to support the juvenile club and that was very much appreciated.
Thank you to all the wonderful parents for bringing home baking and goodies for the kids and thank you to all the ladies that helped to clean up after. I hope all the kids enjoyed the evening and don’t forget you must keep practicing at home at every opportunity. Don’t forget to order some club gear from Mike Tangney and keep supporting the lotto.
Up Listry! Murt Broderick.
