Listry Sunday May 10th.

This Div 3 co league game played in Listry between two clubs, who combine to play their juvenile football , produced a 0-8 to 1-3 victory for the visitors Keel. Conditions were not the best for football as a strong win and driving rain contributed to a rather lacklustre game. Listry were first to score with a point from John Foley after 6 minutes. Listry did not score again until a point from a free by Derry Ahern on the stroke of half time. Meanwhile Keel scored 4 points from Gary Sayers (3) and Arron Murphy to leave the score at half time Listry 0-2 Keel 0-4.With 25 minutes of the first half gone an incident which saw Listry’s Sean Lehane receive a straight red card had a bearing on the result as Listry could not overcome being a man down. The second half was much similar affair with Keel adding to their lead with points from Gary Sayers (2) and Liam O Shea before a Listry move was fisted to the net by Jimmy O Leary to give them some hope of salvaging something from the game. Derry Ahern then converted a free to leave the minimum between the sides entering the last 10 minutes. However even though Listry secured a lot of possession, just as in both of the Firies games they failed to capitalise and the final score was left to Keel as James Nagle pointed with four minutes left and even though Listry pressed on to the finish, they failed to add to their tally, leaving the final score Keel 0-8 Listry 1-3. Keel now have 3 wins in this division as Listry recorded their second defeat. Listry’s inability to convert possession could see them struggle.
