We brought the curtain down on our 2017 academy season with a party in the Listry Community Centre on Friday evening. Our young players were out in strength on the evening. We were delighted to welcome some special guests on the night.

Guest of honour on the night was double All Ireland winning minor manager Peter Keane. Peter has trained many juvenile teams in Listry over the years. He along with his wife Siobhain are also very generous sponsor’s of all juvenile activities in our club. We were delighted to make a presentation to Peter on the night in recognition of his service to Listry and of his recent success with the Kerry minors.

Peter was accompanied on the night by his son Barry who won a Munster U17 medal with Kerry in 2017. A shining example to all Listry juvenile footballers.

We were also were delighted to welcome Kerry minor captain David Clifford from our neighbouring club Fossa who brought along the Tom Markham Cup.

Thanks to Liz and Ger Tangney for providing food on the night and to Liz in particular for Co-ordinating the party. Thanks also to all the all the other parents who helped out on the night.

Thanks to Ger Bosnan Tree Surgeon for his continued support of our juveniles. Ger was a distinguished centre back in his playing days and his generous sponsorship over the last few years of our end of year party is very much appreciated.

Thanks to Tony Darmody and Listry Community Council for making the Community Centre available to us.

Thanks to current and former Listry senior officers for attending on the night. It was great to see former chairman Denis Courtney in attendance. A true Listry Gael

Finally and most importantly a big thanks to all of our juvenile coaches from U6 to U16. Thanks for your commitment and patience throughout 2017.

Up Listry.
