The death occurred last weekend of one of the oldest remaining Listry footballers, Paddy O’Leary of Rockfield who died at the age of 91. He played football with some of the Listry greats such as Dan Buckley, Myo Larkin, Jack Courtney and Paddy Callaghan to name a few. According to the local Gaa historian Patty Sugrue, he can remember him playing most of his football in the backline and was renowned for his high fielding. His neighbours and friends would like to offer their condolences to his extended family and many friends.
