Milltown/Listry Ladies Football News

Milltown Listry ladies football held their annual get together in Killarney country club on Saturday night last, it was a great occasion and encouraging to see so many attend and great credit is due to the hard working committee but especially to Phil Tangney and Claire Rochford. firstly the medals were presented by our two Kerry minors Ronan Buckley and David Roche who did a presentation of east Kerry medals to our under 14 girls and county League to our senior team. it is great to have such commitment and pride from every one of these girls. our under 12 and under also attended, even though they did not receive any silver ware, there still did their club proud. our chairperson phil spoke of very exciting times ahead with a major sponsorship deal done with GMHD insurance in Killarney and Killarney county club. our senior girls and under 16 girls are so lucky to have these 2 major sponsors on our new jerseys. GMHD in front and Killarney country club on the back. it has been so long since we have been able buy new jerseys for our girls and to have these 2 sponsors on board exciting times are ahead for Miltown Listry girls. our past under 14 Kerry girls were congratulated Caoimhe Evans, Mairead Lehane, Meadbh Rochford, Niamh foley and Ella Teahan .


a special congratulations and tribute was paid to our fine under 16 player Ciara murphy who did Miltown Listry proud once again getting on all Ireland under medal and all Munster and all Ireland cup was also in attendance . congratulations Ciara to you and to all your family you have set very high standard for the rest of the girls. to our present under 14 Kerry panel Ella Teahan and Ciara o’mahony and Clodagh Evans.


plans were revealed for our biggest fund raiser ever . a night at the dogs will be held in Tralee on April 9th tickets are 10 euro each and available from Phil Tangney 087 9487355, Margaret Lehane 087 6432812 and Claire Rochford 0876750237 it is hoped this will be a great success and parents and Community will row in to help to raise badly needed funds. there is also a booklet where ads can be placed so any business in the area who wants advertising, the cost of pages 1/2 page €50 and full page €100 it is hoped will get plenty of ads from the community . special thanks was given to Ann McDonnell revive café, new street in Killarney who sponsored 1st, 2nd and 3rd door prizes congrats to Annette Broderick , Owen Flynn and Tracey Sheehan thanks to every one who made the night a great success and mike o’shea for the lovely food.
