Listry/Keel V Beaufort

On Friday 25th of September Listry/Keel played Beaufort in the mid-Kerry Championship. The game was played in Beaufort on a nice dry and calm evening. This was the second meeting of these teams with Listry/Keel taking the spoils in the East Kerry league. Beaufort were looking for revenge and really played with conviction from the start.Beaufort forwards were lively and caused a lot of problems for the Listry/Keel defence. Listry/Keel took a while to get into the game ,eventually they took a few nice scores and only for a few missed placed passes could have been through for a few more goals.Beaufort dominated the mid-field battle and were well deserving leaders at half time on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-6. On the resumption Beaufort kicked a few more points and it looked beyond us.Our boys refused to lie down and finished the half scoring 3-2 to Beaufort 0-7.Fair play to Listry/Keel for showing great battling qualities on a night when we were second to the ball in a lot of positions. The final score was Beaufort 3-17 Listry/Keel 4-8.An entertaining game,a complete reverse of the last meeting. Both teams are school mates, great friends and have built up a good rivalry. It’s one all now.
