On Sunday 16th November 2014 Listry/Keel U-13s played their very first competitive game together. At 12 noon in Spa we took on the locals in the East Kerry league. After a lively opening quarter the game was evenly balanced .However in the second quarter Spa took control and finished the half with a goal and three points to leave the half time score Spa 1-8 Listry/Keel 0-6. Listry/Keel were glad of the break and after good advice from coach Donal Murphy our team returned to play some great football in the second half. Our boys started to link up better,worked harder to retrieve the ball when we lost possession and took some great scores when the opportunity arose.Listry/Keel scored 2-5 in the second half to Spa’s 0-3 and won with a final score of Spa 1-11 Listry 2-11.
This was a great team performance by our young team and we left Spa in great form and headed for Milltown to cheer on the Listry senior team in the Novice final.
