Listry Juniors v Currow by Murt Broderick          On Friday 5thJuly Listry junior football team played Currow in the fourth round of the Co. league. On a glorious evening in Faha ,Listry started lively and Barry Keane cut through for a well taken goal to open the scoring. A good opening quarter for Listry saw Barry tap over 4 more points. Currow were dangerous on the break and responded with some nice scores. Stephen Brosnan chipped in with a point and Darragh O Shea kicked 2 points before half time. Colm Counihan in goal was always comfortable and the full back line of Mike Quirke, Denis O’Leary and Kieran Murphy was rock solid. Paudie Horgan, Stephen Brosnan and Cian O’Donoghue had a tough time on a lively Currow half forward line but all the boys worked hard. Caolan Ryan and Eoghan Darmody had periods of dominance in the first half at mid field. Cain Bradley fielded some great balls at half forward and even though he is struggling with an injury ,still played well and switched to half back for the second quarter of the first half. Anthony Sweeney was solid on the ball and always made himself available to set up attacks. Aidan O Donoghue started at half forward and swept back to defend when the need arose. Darragh O Shea, Micheál Buckley and Barry Keane made up a great full forward line. The score at half time was Listry 1-9 Currow 0-5.Mike Sullivan was introduced at half time and showed a lot of enthusiasm for the game. Stephen switched to mid field,Caolan to half back.Aidan O Donoghue switched to half back and turned in an excellent second half man of the match performance. Currow continued to cause problems and good defending by Listry kept the goal protected at all times. Currow kicked 7 points in the second half and were unlucky with some shots that went narrowly wide. Anthony Sweeney settled Listry with a well taken free and Barry chipped in with another 4 points. Darragh O Shea made some great runs and was unlucky not to score. Anthony Sweeney kicked a super score from play. Tim Scannell replaced Kieran Murphy and made an immediate impact with a great block.  Jonathan O Connor replaced Cain Bradley and showed great movement . Jonathan Sparling come on for Darragh O Shea and won great ball. Killian Broderick came on for Micheal Buckley and Donagh Regan replaced Barry Keane as a target full forward.  The final score was Listry 1-15 Currow 0-12.  Well played  Listry and hard luck to Currow .A sporting game excellently refereed by Mike Hickey .
