Lee Strand U-16 Co.Football League 2012 Div.4

Wed.20th June 2012 Listry/Keel played Beaufort in the first round of the U-16 Co.league.The game was played under ideal conditions in Allman park Listry. Our boys started brightly but the pace of the Beaufort forwards caused a few problems for our defence. However, Listry/Keel were causing problems for Beaufort by being strong on the ball and driving forward at every opportunity. When the half-time whistle blew the sides were level Listry/Keel 1-7 Beaufort 2-4.

Listry/Keel didn’t have a game for 3 weeks due to the Junior Cert. exams.During this time the panel continued to train and fair play to the boys the extra training really showed in the second half.

Listry/Keel took over in the second half and scored an impressive 2-10 to Beaufort’s 5 points. That left the final score Listry/Keel 3-17 Beaufort 2-9.Well done to the u-16 panel on a great start to the league.

Thank you to the U-16 team trainers Ian Foley,Peter Keane,Derry Ahearn and Danny Wrenn.Thank you to Listry Community Council for sponsoring the team.Thank you to John Courtney,Tom Courtney and Kevin O’Shea for umpires and linesman.Thank you to all the parents from Listry and Keel for supporting the team.
