Keel/Listry v Gneeveguilla.
On Monday 8th June 2015 Keel/Listry played Gneeveguilla in Allman park in the first round of the U-14 East Kerry league. The game was played in glorious sunshine with a stiff breeze blowing across the pitch.
Playing into the scoreboard end Keel/Listry started lively and Ruairi Murphy scored a point followed by another by Gary Murphy and our third point came from Micheál Buckley. Gneeveguilla then replied with a goal and even at this stage both teams were playing good football. Keel/Listry forwards Killian Broderick, Killian Murphy, Eoin O Donnell, Dean Ladden,Gary Murphy and Ruairi Murphy were linking up well and put Gneeveguilla defence under a lot of pressure. Gary Murphy scored a great goal and then Gneeveguilla replied with a point and followed with a goal. Mid fielders Micheál Buckley and Liam Clifford had to work hard at midfield as their opponent’s were mobile and good footballers. Seán Langford made some great saves in goal for Keel/Listry and full back Seamus Giles was reading the game exceptionally well and made some fantastic interceptions in the first half. Dyan Brennan carried an injury into the game and gave everything at corner back until injury forced him off. Micheál Keane came on at corner back and played very well linking up well with Dara O Dowd who had his best game this year at left half back. Jerry Griffin at corner back stuck tightly to his man throughout the game.Right half back Diarmuid Kelleher picked up an ankle injury in a school game earlier in the day and as always Diarmuid played his heart out until injury forced off.Seán Corcoran was solid at centre back and distributed the ball well. The game was played at a frantic pace and Keel/Listry struck with another point from Gary and a goal from Killian Broderick. Gneeveguilla replied with a goal and again Killian Broderick responded with a point and Ruairi Murphy scored a goal.  Gneeveguilla attacked at every opportunity and were rewarded with two goals on the trot.Keel/Listry continued to play good intelligent football and finished the half very strong scoring another two goals and five points .Gary kicked three points, Killian Murphy kicked 2 goals and a point from a free and Ronan kicked a point. After a cracking first half the half time score was Keel/Listry 5-10 Gneeveguilla 5-1.
Injuries forced Keel/Listry to make changes at half time. Ruairi had to play half back and Killian Broderick moved to mid field. Keel/Listry boys continued to work hard and in fairness to all the team they always looked up and tried to find a team mate with every ball. Killian Murphy kicked a point from a free and Gneeveguilla scored a point and another goal. Our boys responded and Killian Murphy kicked another marvellous free. Gneeveguilla boys wouldn’t lie down and again scored a goal. Keel/Listry introduced Aaron O Shea at half time,James O Dowd Gearóid Ladden and Cathal Griffin came on mid way through the second half and all the boys played their part and worked hard . Keel/Listry rallied again we kicked 3 fantastic points from play,2 from Killian Broderick and a super score from the hard working Liam Clifford. Cathal Griffin struck for a goal and we seemed to have done enough. However, Ruairi Murphy was forced off with an injury after playing a great game. Gneeveguilla showed great battling qualities and finished with 3 goals and a point to level the scores at full time. The final score was Keel/Listry 6-15 Gneeveguilla 10-3. Well done to both teams for providing great entertainment. The game was excellently refereed by Tom Moriarty from  Legion.
