In a typically tight championship game played in splendid sunshine in Faha GAA pitch John Foley proved the hero for the home side punching the winning point in the dying minutes of the game.
It looked as if the contest was heading for extra time after the outstanding Ronan Buckley had kicked the equalising point but Foley had other ideas and was at the end of a good move to punch the winning point.
Cordal played with the wind in the first half but were two points in arrears at the break. Half time score Listry 0-06 Cordal 0-04.
The second half was a ding dong affair with both teams giving it everything. Great credit is due to both teams for serving up a tough and exciting game. The game was well refereed by Ger Lynch from Ballymac.
