This east Kerry league Div 2 game played in Farranfore ended in a draw 1-7 apiece. Both teams started without many regulars and the game was slow to start with the first score not coming until the 8th minute when Damien Clifford opened the scoring for Listry. The first quarter was even enough with the score at 2 points each after 15 minutes. Shortly after this Firies scored a goal from corner forward Sean Burke. Listry were dominating the play at this stage but kicked 6 wide’s as well as some bad passing options when attacking. However they then scored a goal from Sean Lehane on the 24th minute and followed up with 2 points from frees by Damien Clifford. Listry led at half time 1-5 to 1-2. Listry extended their lead with a point from Kieran Murphy after the restart but Firies then came into the game scoring 4 points without reply. 3 of these points came from frees from William Courtney and 1 from play by Colm O Shea to leave the sides level. Listry through a John Foley point went back into the lead but a point from Firies with the last kick of the game gave Firies a share of the spoils. Listry now play Kenmare this weekend in the last round of this league.
