Rules & Regulations Governing the 2018 Club Championships.

Senior Club Football Championship 2018

The Group Stage shall be on a League basis of two Groups of four teams, with each team in a Group playing the other teams once.

Win = 2pts, Draw = 1 pt & Lose = 0 pt. Top team in each Group qualifies for the Final. *Lowest placed team in each Group play in relegation play-offs – subject to the following exemption:

*Any team that qualifies for the Senior County Championship Final cannot be relegated. Where this occur the following shall apply:

Where only one of the lowest placed team in either Group qualify for the Senior County Championship Final, the remaining lowest placed team in the other Group is relegated.

Where the lowest placed team from both Groups qualify for the Senior County Championship Final, the third placed team in both groups play-off to decide who is relegated.


Tie-Breakers:

In the event of teams finishing on equal points in a Quarter-Final Group, the tie shall be decided by the following means and in the order specified:

  • Where two Teams only are involved – the outcome of the meeting of the two Teams in the Group
  • Score difference – subtracting the total Scores against from the total Scores for.
  • Highest Total Score For
  • Highest Total Goals For
  • A Play-Off

Neutral Venues

Home venue in the Group stages of the Club championship is subject to co-operation with the CCC in hosting neutral games in the club championship competitions

  • An ‘open draw’ to decide the make-up of each Group.
  • Extra Time to apply in the Final unless otherwise decided by the CCC.
  • County Board responsible for Gates and Referees Expenses for all games.
  • All other regulations as decided by Co Committee (Dec 2017) and as outlined in Eolaire 2018 page 65 – (County Championship Regulations).
